Plant in Light
Lamp, inspired by the beauty of blooming flowers.
Designer Patrick Jouin offers a stunning piece of flora- inspired lamp to our homes. According to him there is nothing more beautiful than the moment in which a flower is born and the Bloom lamp is just that.
This creation of art for the home can easily expand and collapse depending on the need of light. The complex design is based on a 3D printing technology, which is combined with an innovative structure.
I am confused whether Bloom is a blossoming light or a luminous flower. However it perfectly combines the functionality of an electrical appliance with the tenderness of wild orchid.
A room in the garden
A concept of a garden room leads to a house with exclusive contemporary design and openness.
The main idea of the project by MCK was for a room in the garden and developed to a nice contemporary house. The modern addition to the house impresses with smart use of space and great relationship with the environment. The lack of barriers and divisions in the building’ s architecture creates a sense of freedom and openness.
At the same time the interior comes as a natural extension of the garden and provides an uninterrupted passage between living room and landscape. Both changes and modern look of the house does not affect its street presence, but its inner part and view from the garden. The good access of sunlight and plenty of ventilation ensure that the garden remains an oasis for the owners of this house.
Cool Ice
Ice cubes are no longer what they used to be ...
Summer is knocking on the door with the long-awaited vacations, crazy parties and hot weather. I recently came across some unusual ideas for our favorite, colorful and exciting ... summer cocktails.
Viewing ice only as a form of water which can cool you down is no longer the case. The invention of silicone ice trays has given freedom to the imagination so that everyone could choose whether to have a ship, shark or soccer ball in their glass.
Just few ideas of what is possible: π-formed ice for the math lovers, shiny diamonds for the ladies, musical instruments for the music fans and of course space invaders for all the gamers.
No matter whether you are on a beach or in a café the must for this summer will be a refreshing cocktail with some cool ice cubes.
Underwater
I recently came across the latest project of a photographer with an unusual vision of reality. Her name is Jill Greenberg and she has been interested in art in its various forms since 10.
The series of underwater photographs are very vivid and definitely full of emotions. After seeing this project I wanted to get to know Mrs. Greenberg a.k.a. the Manipulator better. In her portfolio, there are shocking portraits of crying babies, pictures of animals transmitting human feelings and photo sessions with stars from show business.
She is a true perfectionist and as a proof of that most of her works are super touched. With this technique and thanks to her talent her art appears to be very influential.
You can see some of her other projects at Jill Greenberg.
Beauty and The Bass
Excellent bass performance wrapped in beauty and elegance - this is BeoLab 11 from Bang & Olufsen.
BeoLab 11 delivers amazing bass quality and combines intriguing design and unorthodox placement possibilities. The unique acoustic design allows BeoLab 11 to be placed on the floor, in a corner, or mounted on the wall. In fact, thanks to its minimal vibration, it is one of the few subwoofers in the world that can be mounted on a wall.
The nice new subwoofer from the B&O has two 6.5-inch drivers, in an aluminum shell, for greater sound experience. BeoLab 11 delivers incredible quality bass for its size. Its sculptural and elegant design makes it look like a modern artwork.

Dorm in Lights
Impressive lightshow, which transforms an entire block into a huge movie screen.
P.I.W.O. is a project developed by students from the Technical University in Wroclaw. They decided to implement the lessons they learned in class in order to create a new way of entertainment. The ten minutes show tells a matrix inspired action story using numerous lighting and sound effects. At the end of the performance there are even some iconic Michael Jackson moves.
P.I.W.O., which means "beer" in Polish, is unusual name for such a project but it is one more original idea of the innovative Polish students.

Net Chair is created by Jun Hashimoto, part of the creative collaboration called Books. Interesting moment is the constructing of the chair – it is maid of a single sheet of stainless mesh. Net Chair proves once again that modern design uses industrial materials and simple techniques to create comfortable and elegant furniture.
The design of the chair brings a feeling of spaciousness, and the used material and its structure speak of stability. Jun Hashimoto makes Net Chair from stainless mesh sheet with size 1x4 meters, and diameter of the strand from 2-20 mm.
Be a Supa Star
Lunch, you want to have a delicious soup – Supa Star is the place, right in the hearth of Sofia.
I found this new place about a month ago and became one of their fans eager to share about Supa Star. Different as an idea and interesting as a realization – the menu is devoted mainly to Her Majesty the Soup and just for diversity come a few salads and sandwiches.
Nice interior and positive people – friendly atmosphere to eat a delicious soup with pleasure. The interior is as cool as the idea and you should definitely try to sit at the bar or one of the tables on the second floor. If your schedule is too busy or you have some sort of a lunch ceremony at the office, you can safely take your favorite soup with you in a convenient package.
Supa Star is at 8, Ivan Shishman Str. in Sofia and works from 10:00 to 21:00.
Temptations Tree
It is a beautiful and delicious addition for your different and stylish party.
The tree is a quirk of the French company Smarin and is suitable for serving of fruits or small bites in a new way. Everyone at a party will be fascinated by the opportunity to "grab" something straight from the tree.
Available in different sizes and unique shapes, the tree is always made from natural materials. On its basis you can serve a certain sauce, which adds further taste to the food.
It is spring time now and summer is approaching so what would bring you greater happiness then a whole forest of delicious food in the center of your party?
Ec-o Bench
I recently found something that would transform Sofia, and any other big city into a better place to live.
Ec-o is a concept for a multifunctional bench that generates electricity. It will be produced from recycled aluminum from old airplanes. Furthermore a cleverly organized network of pipes will collect rainwater to irrigate its mini eco system. The built-in solar panels will use the sunlight during the day to power the lamps during the night.
Every detail in Ec-o is needed and almost perfect. The round shape is not only joy for the eye, but also makes you think of space love.
In my opinion Ec-o is one very good investment for any city that pursues sustainable development. I hope that soon such eco-innovation will be common on the streets of Sofia.

Invisible Furniture
Surprising concept for home furnishing from Tokujin Yoshioka.
Japan-born designer has worked with many leading companies such as BMW and Nissan, and has showed his art installations in museums in New York, Paris and London. In this project he uses the pioneering polycarbonate technology which enables furniture to be nearly invisible, but quite solid. Anyone who dared to have a product of Yoshioka will understand what it feels to be weightless, or at least how it looks to sit in the air.
You can see by yourself that through this invisible furniture your home you will look much more spacious.
Square house
Smart architectural solution comes out as a result of a wish to take full advantage of the lot.
The project of Caramel Architects for a house in Linz (Austria) is a good example of a building opened toward south and west for more natural light and beautiful view. The two sides have all-glass facades and the west one looks over the Danube valley and receives sunlight until evening. There are externally mounted textile curtains that guard against overheating and excessive sunlight. The south façade pulls away to make a covered terrace area and finds it extension in a large swimming pond.
The southwest part of the house consists of a kitchen, dining and living room and allows the bedrooms to be not that public. They are in the northeast part, which is closed and prevents neighbors from looking in and disturbing your privacy.
