REFEELINGS
Are there spare feelings? I ask myself this question while looking at the new exhibition REFEELINGS of the young talent Ivan Madjarov that is presented at ANIMA Art Gallery – Hilton Sofia. Eleven oil paintings show human feelings and their destiny. They show you the wasted or spared feelings and make you think about what you have experienced and what you did not dare to live. In the paintings I find chaotic, messy shapes and volumes, as well as numerous details that Madjarov managed to balance into a single, homogeneous atmosphere. Just like details want to find their exact place in the picture, the feelings look for their place in our life. In some cases feelings empower us but in others – lead us to disappointment. Sometimes they are wasted and other times – spared by someone else or us. In these cases they pile up somewhere, where we don’t suspect about them. Both good and bad, they wait to be rediscovered. Such is the fate of the objects that served as inspiration to Madjarov – discarded automobile and machine parts, cardboard boxes, shabby baby dolls. Although part of our daily lives, they stand somewhere unnoticed by us, but in one way or another they have their place in our life and hearts. ANIMA Art Gallery presents the exhibition REFEELINGS by Iavn Madjarov from December 13, 2011 to February13, 2012 at Hilton Sofia.

Lick me up!
The most popular faces of our time become ice creams on sticks. Although it is winter and everybody prefers having hot drinks I decided to share something cooling for the tongue and refreshing for the mind. STOYN Ice creams are made by a Russian advertising agency with the same name. They created a strawberry ice cream in the form of Marilyn Monroe, Tequila Sunrise ice cream in the form of Super Mario, Che Guevara as an ice cream with rum and few others. Who would refuse such an ice cream, even in the winter?

From some time I wanted to tell you about a nice place that is nestled among the quiet streets of Sofia’s center. '+ tova' is bright, spacious and adds a dose of positive energy to your day. What to expect? Place for meetings and events, that has a kitchen, bar and shop, and makes you feel comfortable in its calm atmosphere. No smoking inside but there is an option for those who smoke – a special place outside with ashtrays and blankets for the winter months. In the interior of "+ tova" you can clearly feel the sign of Funkt studio (Supa Star, Take a Cake) and find selected furniture by young Bulgarian designers – Konstantin Achkov, Peter Zaharinov, Rada Dicheva and others. Besides the fact that you can enjoy and use these designers’ items at the place, you have the opportunity to buy them too. The place is based on self-service and its present menu offer delicacies that are not typical, but rather tied to special events (French pasta, quiche, sweet and savory baked goods), that you can find out about on its official site. "+ tova" is located at 30, Marin Drinov Str. in Sofia and is open every day from 10:00 to 22:00.
Orime Mouse
The computer mouse Orime comes with an unusual image – sexy design without curved surfaces. The Japanese peripheral company Elecom relies on faceted, lo-fi design, developed by Nendo and consisting of flat surfaces that meet to form hard edges. In terms of functionality besides the standard three buttons with scroll that are located at the usual place for them, there is a fourth button on the left side of the mouse. The Orime Mouse connects wirelessly using a USB dongle and is available in four different colors that you can see in the gallery.

Winter fashion by Anastas...
Recently I came across the web page of Anastasia Lomonova, who is among the most promising young designers of Canada. Her collection for Fall/Winter 2011 impressed me with concept and masterful interpretation of viewpoints and abstract visions in the form of garments. Originally from Ukraine, Anastasia moved to Cyprus with her parents after collapse of the USSR. Later she moved to Canada, where she specialized in painting before continuing her studies in fashion at the Ryerson University. After graduation, she launched her label in 2007 and since then has numerous achievements and awards in fashion. The label of Anastasia Lomonova explores design that goes beyond seasons, ages, lifestyles and trends. It makes an analysis of conceptual themes, inspired by everything and nothing, which result shows how otherwise abstract, intangible ideas are transformed into ready-to-wear clothes.

Only for designers
Inkling is a great product that will please a lot of designers and creatvies I believe. The manufacturer of illustration interfaces Wacom finally put pen-and-ink back in the hands of artists. Wacom Inkling Digital Stylus Pen is a real, ink-filled pen that records the drawings you have created and transfers them to a computer. Now those who prefer to sketch on paper can do so again and the digital representation of their work can be quickly and easily tossed into Photoshop or Illustrator. Having in mind the fact that it is mid-November, I think it is time to prepare the gift lists for the upcoming winter holidays. Inkling sounds like a great addition, right?
Nooka Zizm
Nooka’s collection has a new addition – the Zizm watch. The design is again outstanding and the new model has a unique faceted crystal lens that refracts the time’s view in an interesting way on the ZenH display. The faceted surface creates a pattern that continues throughout the entire design of the timepiece including its first silicone strap. The strap itself is sized by cutting in order to create the perfect fit for each wearer. Have a look at Nooka Zizm in the gallery. It’s cool, yeah?

If you spend too much time looking for lost things, then maybe you need exactly this new gadget. Thanks to it very quickly and easily you can find your keys, telephone, wallet or whatever you are missing. The idea is very simple and is based on a sticker that is placed on a particular object. Then a device is configured and it is ready to give you directions on how to find the lost item. Great idea and also very convinient. However, be careful, because the creators of this invention do not suggest anything if you happen to lose invention itself.
