I have always been wondering what is the proper way of folding those huge tourist maps. I recently found out that proper way does not exist. Inspired by the rather confusing traditional way of folding tourist maps, designer Emanuele Pizzolorusso came up with the Crumpled City Map. It is innovative because every user can adjust it to their individual needs, rather than to comply with the limits of ordinary maps. Crumpled City Maps are printed on a soft and yet strong, waterproof paper. The material is specially selected to allow people to fold and squeeze the map however they want without destroying it. These maps are easy to use because you can keep the area you are interested in unfolded in the palm of your hand and wrap it up when you find what you have been looking for. When you do not need the map anymore, you can put it back in the convenient small bag. What could be easier than that?

The future of fashion or the unusual fantasies of an artist. Kora-Krit brand initially emerged as a continuation of the eccentric art of Korakrit Arunanondchai. He was born in Bangkok, but lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. Skoota is the first portable electric scooter. It is a new form of fully electric inner urban transportation designed for the near future, and taking the idea of the moped one step further. The scooter’s design is by Stuart Emmerson – student from Monash University. Using a unique “K” shaped frame, Skoota minimizes unnecessary bulk to produce a simple form that is not only practical but also compliments the compacting feature, located on the central pivot, a key functional of the product.

Portuguese designer Rui Grazina has created new home for jewellery – a cube-shaped box with a drawer on each face called RG02. The jewellery box was conceived as an object that contains small interior spaces in five drawers on its five usable sides. Each of these units has different size and character, offering the possibility of assigning them different functions. The whole unit is made of satinwood, and marked by the particular feature of a smaller drawer, which is given another kind of wood – rosewood – thus proposing a different space oriented for an especially precious object.
